Step Beyond is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to prison reform, reentry, reimagining, and rebuilding communities by fostering a culture of rehabilitation, reintegration, and support. We firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance at life. Our multifaceted approach encompasses various programs and initiatives that address the challenges faced by incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals, with the goal of breaking the cycle of recidivism and creating a more just and inclusive society.
Reentry Support and Post-Incarceration Services
One of our primary objectives is to provide comprehensive reentry support for individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. We offer essential services, including housing assistance, employment support, and educational opportunities, to ensure a successful reintegration.
Community Engagement and Empowerment
Understanding the importance of community ties, Step Beyond actively engages in community empowerment initiatives. We organize workshops, educational programs, and vocational training opportunities to empower individuals and strengthen the fabric of our communities.
Legacy Advocacy and Reform
Step Beyond is committed to advocating for legal reforms that address discriminatory practices affecting women and girls in the criminal justice system. We engage in legal advocacy efforts, support legislative reforms, and educate the public on the importance of creating a more just and equitable legal system.
